Building on Past Achievements and Pioneering the Future: 2025 Expanded Meeting of the Standing Council of the Metal Composite Materials Branch Successfully Held in Changsha

On May 21, the 2025 Expanded Meeting of the Standing Council of the Metal Composite Materials Branch, hosted by the Metal Composite Materials Branch of China Building Materials Federation (hereinafter "MCM") and China Testing & Certification International Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "CTC"), and co-organized by Hunan KEOCT Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "KEOCT"), was convened in Changsha. Over 90 representatives from vice-chairperson units and standing council member units attended. Convened during a critical transition period for both the industry and the MCM's leadership rotation, this meeting carries profound significance in ensuring continuity and progress.

Mr. Song Kaisen, Deputy General Manager of CTC and Executive Vice Chairperson of the MCM, delivered a speech. On behalf of the Secretariat, he expressed gratitude for the industry's strong support and issued directives for the leadership transition. Addressing adverse domestic and international conditions, he advocated for enhanced industry self-regulation, innovation-driven development, strengthened industrial chain collaboration, proactive global engagement, and sustainable industry advancement.

Mr. Wang Xiaohong, General Manager of co-organizer KEOCT, welcomed delegates to Changsha and called for collaborative industry development. He urged focus on fire-resistant core materials and building products, aligning with national high-quality development goals through extensive industrial cooperation.

Secretary-General Jiang Quan presented the MCM's 2025 Work Report, outlining key initiatives and highlighting severe market pressures amid economic headwinds. He emphasized green, low-carbon, digital, and intelligent transformation as future priorities, urging innovation and upstream-downstream collaboration. The report also covered green building material certification, EPD certification for metal composites, the "New National Standards, High Quality" nationwide product inspection campaign, membership services, industry promotion, and exhibition partnerships. Plans for the latter half of 2025 include leadership transition, industrial upgrading, and supply chain cooperation.

Mr. Wu Shuai, Director of the MCM Office, detailed procedures for the 4th Council transition, adhering to CBMF's guidelines. Ms. Dong Kexin, Client Manager of MMU BAU Fenestration Co., Ltd., introduced CADE Architecture Design Expo 2025 (Shanghai), highlighting its role in boosting brand visibility through thematic showcases and conferences.

The meeting concluded with extensive discussions on industry challenges, including insufficient orders, declining exports, unfair competition, and accounts receivable. Delegates shared countermeasures, stressing that only by committing to green, low-carbon, and smart solutions—coupled with innovation and global expansion—can the industry overcome current difficulties and embrace a promising future.
